Ironman Cliffhanger

Cliffhanger 2008 promises to be an amazing event yet again - combining winch challenge, navigation, speed, and short course trials all on one massive outback property near White Cliffs, North West NSW.

This year there is only one class - Challenge Class, and this is a CCDA sanctioned event, however with less stringent competitor requirements. Furthermore, unregistered vehicles are OK but must be sound and comply with the scrutineering sheet, but you will still need
harnesses, helmets and window nets.

This year Team MudRhino has been requested by the organisers to develop the official event DVD. In typical TMR fashion, the video crew will be there armed to the teeth with an abundance of cameras to capture every bit of action.

Pursuit

After much speculation, the Pursuit is back for 2008. Originally called the 'Yarraman Midnight Pursuit' in the nineties, then later renamed the 'Simex Pursuit' this event has been with us for a very long time and has proven a favourite with many 4wders across Victoria.

This year the event will take place in the Erica District, and teams of only one vehicle (with no passengers) are allowed.

It is envisage the typical car will undertake 20 hours of driving from start to finish, beginning at 10.30am and running into the early hours of the following morning.

The driving format will be basic navigation off maps provided, but you will also require a GPS to find hidden tracks not listed on maps. The standard of driving will be as tough as possible on public tracks.

The terrain in this event is tough and the rigs should ideally be of Winch Challenge or battle truck breed. You must have a powered winch, aggressive tyres, a GPS, at least 1 diff lock and a UHF radio as major prerequisites. Note that independent suspension and tyres less than 33 inches are likely to be a disadvantage.
